WELCOME TO 3RD GRADE!!!
Dear Parents,
Welcome back to a brand new school year!
See below for Classroom Information. Majority of our class communication will be via Email. Homework & Test schedules will be posted on this page; students will also receive paper copies on the first Sunday of the Month.
This will be a busy class, but we will try to make it stress-free and fun as possible. With your help and support it is possible! Happy to be working with you!

3rd Grade Supply List
Every day, students must bring to class EVERY SUNDAY:
- School bag
- Textbook (School provided)
- Workbook (School provided)
- NEW Composition Copybook (all students assignments are to be done in this Cobybook-NO SPIRAL!)
- New American Bible
- 3 sharpened pencils & Eraser
- Glue Stick
- Art Supplies (crayons/markers/color pencils)
- Folder (provided by teacher)
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
- Students who wish to participate in Ecumenical Competition must return the registration form and fee by Sun Oct 1st! If you need another copy, please email me.
- First Exam is on Oct 22nd! Details below.
HOMEWORK BY DUE DATE:
Week 1 Homework, Due Sept. 17th 2017:
- Parents HW (See Class folder):
- Sign Parent Letter
- Fill out the Parent Information Slip
- Return Papers in student’s folder
- Student HW:
- Bring all materials to class!
- Decorate Copybook (BE CREATIVE & HAVE FUN ! Example provided in email)
- Find some Religious/Biblical pictures/words from online, magazines, newspaper-you can make your own too!
- It can be Saints, Church, objects that resemble God’s creation, Bible characters etc…
- Cut out and glue on Front and Back hard covers (put at least 4 pictures on each cover-total 8)
- Don’t forget to include Student First & Last Name, Grade 3 on the cover!
- Cover with clear contact paper!

Week 2 Homework; Due Sept 24, 2017
- Read LESSON 1 “God Who Gives Life” – 3x recommended
- Write the Questions & Answers from Textbook (TB) pg.11 in Copybook (CB) -follow the Homework Layout sheet from email
- Complete Lesson 1 Review Sheet “God Who Gives Life”
Week 3 Homework; Due October 1, 2017
- Read the Creation Story (Genesis 1: 1-31) http://www.usccb.org/bible/genesis/1
- Write & Illustrate the Creation Story (See email for example)
- Use 3 CB pages. Divide first page into 3 horizontal spaces & title Day 1, Day 2, Day 3 in the spaces orderly.
- Second page-divide in half horizontally for Day 4 and 5; Third Page- Day 6 & 7
- Write the Title for each Day (i.e. Day 5-God Created Sea and Sky animals)
- Draw pictures/color in each space respectively (i.e. Day 5-God created Sea and Sky animals- draw pictures of fish in the water, and birds in the sky)
Week 4 Homework; Due October 8, 2017
- Read LESSON 2 “Man Who Loses Divine Life” AND LESSON 3 “Sin Breaks Relationships”– 3x recommended
- Write Q&A from TB pg.15 & pg. 19 in CB (follow same format from Lesson 1)
- Finish Review Sheets for Lesson 2 & 3
Week 5 Homework; Due October 15, 2017
- Read Rosary Lesson-3x recommended
- Finish Handout
- Review Lessons 1 -3 (mini quiz next Sunday)
- Catch up on any missing HW
Week 6 Homework; Due October 22, 2017
